The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration celebrated Lohri Festival with Special Children on 13.01.2021 at AASHREY HOME, Sector 47D, Chandigarh with a lot of enthusiasm and by following the Covid-19 protocol.

The Chief Guest of the celebration was Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh along with his wife. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home-cum-Tourism, Chandigarh Administration, Smt. Nitika Pawar, IAS Director Tourism, Chandigarh Administration and Dr. Jasbinder Kaur, Director Principal, GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh has also graced the occasion.

The function started with traditional welcome of Chief Guest with Punjabi Boliyaan, Dholi and Punjabi Folk Songs. It was a gala day for the special children. The bonfire, a key feature of Lohri was kept alight throughout the celebration, lighting up the spirit of joy, happiness and togetherness. Even as the festival ended, the moments spend in the festival would be some of the most enjoyable memories.

Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh distributed blankets, water camper and sweets to the special children to make the occasion special for the children of AASHREY HOME. The officials of AASHREY HOME thanked the Chief Guest and Tourism Department for celebrating the Lohri with the children and making the day special.
